Falling out with Grandpa Hallett

Dave loved controversy and was very dogged in his opinions. He rarely toned them down. Once he misjudged a situation and He fell out with Grandpa Hallett for a few months.  Once when Dave was talked about the oppression of Palestinians in Gaza by the Israeli Government. Grandpa  felt it was an anti-semetic slur and said: “I’m not going to allow those views in my house David”

This phrase Dave repeated for many years afterwards as usual accompanied by slapping  of his hands and shifting weight from one foot to the other so he swayed slightly from side to side. Possibly re-enacting and processing it or possibly in hindsight enjoying the controversy.
